Some Broan and NuTone model numbers have an alpha suffix.
Example: 41000-L.
It is important to refer to the exact model number with the alpha suffix when selecting parts, requesting service or speaking to a technical support representative regarding your Broan product.
Broan Standard Under-Cabinet Range Hood
Label Placement
The model label is located either on the right or left side wall of the range hood canopy.
NuTone Standard Under-Cabinet Range Hood

Broan Allure Under-Cabinet Range Hood
Label Placement
Remove range hood filters by pulling down on the filter tabs. The series number is located either on the back wall of the range hood housing or on the Teflon air pan. (Example...QS1, QS2 or QS3)
Broan Elite Fashion Style Chimney Range Hood
Label Placement
Remove range hood filters. The model label is located on the underside of the canopy behind the filters.
Broan Elite Professional Style Range Hood
Label Placement
The model label is located on the inside of left wall of the range hood canopy. Filters may need to be removed to access the label.

The model label is located on the front of unit beneath the cook top. Cabinet drawers or shelving may need to be removed to access label.

Broan Standard Bath Fan

Remove the grille by pulling down 2 inches. Reach behind the grille and squeeze the mounting springs to remove the grille. The model label is located in the corner closest to the outlet. Some fans may have the model stamped into the motor plate instead of a printed sticker label.
NuTone Standard Bath Fan

Remove the grille by pulling down 2 inches. Reach behind the grille and squeeze the mounting springs to remove the grille. The model label is located in the corner closest to the outlet. Some fans may have the model stamped into the motor plate instead of a printed sticker label.
Broan Mid-Level Bath Fan
Label Placement
Remove the grille by pulling down 2 inches. Reach behind the grille and squeeze the mounting springs to remove the grille. The model label is located on the underside of the motor plate.
Broan Designer Style Bath Fan
Label Placement
Remove the glass lens which is attached by two leaf springs. Use a small flat head screwdriver to carefully pry the glass lens from the grille. Screwdriver can be inserted into one of the small slots on the perimeter of the glass lens. To avoid scratching the surface of the grille the screwdriver can be wrapped in a thin cloth or tissue. Reach over lens and push in on springs to release. Grille is held by two screws along rim or a single nut in the center. The model label is located on the underside of the motor plate.
Broan Combination Heater Fan Light
Label Placement
Remove light lens by pressing in on the sides and pulling down. Remove the light bulb. Remove the light reflector and grille by removing the center acorn nut. The model label is located on either the inside perimeter of housing or underside of motor plate.
NuTone Combination Heater Fan Light
Label Placement
Release the locking tabs on the lens. Remove the lens. Remove the reflector mounting screw. Remove the reflector and grille. The model number is located on the inside edge of the housing.
Broan Bulb Heater
Label Placement
Remove the grille by unhooking the springs from the housing. The model number can be found inside the housing on a specification label.
NuTone Bulb Heater
Label Placement
Remove the bulb(s) from the unit. Remove the springs from the hooks inside the rough-in box. The model number is located on the inside end of the rough-in box.
NuTone QuietTest Bath Fan
Label Placement
Remove the grille by pulling down 2 inches. Reach between the grille and ceiling and squeeze the mounting springs together. Pull springs out of slots in mounting plate. The model label is located on the power unit mounting plate.
Broan Powered Attic Ventilators
Label Placement
The model label is located on the cover of the wiring box which is visible from the attic.
Broan Utility Ventilators
Label Placement
Removed the grille by a central knob or two screws. The model may be ceiling or wall mounted. The label is located on the inside perimeter of housing opposite wiring panel.
NuTone Whole House Ventilator

The data label is located on top corner of the unit housing.
NuTone Powered Attic Ventilators (PAVs)

The model label is located on the cover of the wiring box which is visible from the attic.
NuTone Utility Ventilators

Remove the grille by a central knob or two screws. The model may be ceiling or wall mounted. The label is located on the inside perimeter of housing opposite wiring panel.
NuTone Central Vacuum – Power Head

The model number is located on the bottom of the power head.
NuTone Central Vacuum – Power Unit

The model number is located on the back of the chime cover. Remove the cover and look on the back side

Broan Trash Compactors
Label Placement
The model may be free standing or installed under cabinet. The label is located inside on the right wall of housing at the motor level, access through rear service panel if drawer cannot be removed.
All Broan 12" wide compactors use the same bags. Orders can be placed using Part #93620008 (12 pack).
All 15" wide units use Bag #15TCBL (12 pack).
