Indoor Air Quality
Healthier Home – The inside Story
Hi and welcome to Healthier Home – The Inside Story brought to you by Broan-NuTone. This is a podcast and content series about healthy homes and how you can have one. Of course, because we’re Broan-NuTone, we’ll be focusing a lot on Indoor Air Quality. And rightly so! We spend 90% of our time indoors and take around 25,000 breaths every day.
We’ll have conversations with experts in the building of homes, energy efficiency, wellness, and many more topics too. Have you ever wondered how and why a builder made the decisions they did when building your home?
Maybe you wondered why your house gets so humid in the late spring even though you have the air conditioning running. Or maybe you wondered why condensation builds up on your windows in the winter. Did you ever stop to think about the candles you light or air “fresheners” you put in your home? Those scents are chemicals, floating around in our house and making their way into your nose, eyes, and lungs. The same goes for the chemicals you use to clean your house. Many of these chemicals, along with mold and mildew, can exacerbate allergies, asthma, and other respiratory issues.
Our goal is to help you better understand your home and the air you breathe and how it affects your comfort and health.
We will also help you make decisions about how you live in your house and what products you buy and install to make it a home.
If you have ideas or questions, send them to me at freshair@broan.com and I’ll do my best to answer them. They may even become a future episode or article.
